So Montauk was a fail. I’m not really sure Art on the Green should call itself a fine art show. There was a ton of good Art there, but also some stuff that probably shouldn’t be able to get into a ‘juried’ fine art show. The only work that seemed to be selling was kitschy inexpensive beach images and cheap jewelry. The crowd was also a bit different than I had anticipated, the families on vacation and Montauk residents who came by my booth were far outnumbered by a much younger college crowd. I didn’t do well at the show. I didn’t even break even, but that’s ok.
I got to spend some alone time with my lovely wife, I had one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever eaten, and I met some really, really good people.
Oh ya, and Saturday nights sunset was really really nice from the tip of Long Island!
