Project 366: Day 366
- After midnight
I made it, 366 individual images, one for each day of the past year. Some days were better than others and some of the images will likely find their way into my portfolio, many won’t. But that was part of the point, to push myself out of my comfort zone by forcing myself to put it all out there, warts and all, good and bad. I post process images like a painter. By that I mean left to my own devices I will pick away at a given image at a snail’s pace, piling up numerous minor changes and spending days and sometimes weeks contemplating said changes before deciding I made the right choices and moving on with the image. This was the other point of the project for me. To conceive an image, capture it, and then process that original notion in a much more timely fashion. There are only so many hours in a day and on many an occasion the ticking clock forced me to abandon my tendency towards endless consideration and contemplation of possible choices. I suppose the natural measure of success for this undertaking would simply be whether or not I ended the year with an image captured from each day and in that regard I have achieved the goal. I also feel like I reached my secondary goals by sharing images that likely never would have seen the light of day otherwise and making choices more quickly during the process from capture through post processing.
So in the spirit of bearing it all I give you my last image of project 366 2016, after midnight. Likely the only naked snowy star trail selfie I will ever make
