I am a hopeless addict. It’s true and I'm finally trying to come to terms with it....

I am completely and utterly addicted to chasing beautiful light.

I used to think that I dragged myself out of bed before dawn, or sought out relatively wild locales for the landscape in and of itself, but I was just deluding myself. It’s really for that light.

The light is the real reason we landscape photographers forgo sleep to be on location well before dawn, or skip dinner to go out hoping for that perfect sunset. It is the reason we will wait with our chosen composition in front of our lens, often enduring less than pleasant conditions, watching and hoping for the light to do something magical, thus bringing the vision in our mind's eye to fruition.

So please join me on my quest for those unique moments when that gorgeous light becomes just right and makes something special happen. My only hope is that you enjoy the images I bring back as much as I have enjoyed capturing them.

My goal as an Artist is to use photography to capture those sublime moments that Nature constantly unfolds around us in a way that captures, not just a mere representation of a scene, but the essential essence of that place and what it was like to be there in that moment.

An unfortunate growing trend in landscape photography seems to be creating the “magical” with post-processing wizardry. Replacing dull skies and adding rainbows, or using advanced color mapping techniques to create a quality of light that wasn’t present when the image was captured, are increasingly common practices that are all too often undisclosed to the viewer .

My goal is to capture the magic of that place in that moment as I saw it through the camera. I thank you for taking a few moments to check out my photographs. I hope you enjoy seeing the world through my lens. Hopefully I’ve done my job and you see a few unique moments that highlight just how much beauty is around us each and every day if we just look for it.
